The 50/50 Project at Franklin Photography Studios originated in December of 2019, and was intended to be a one time project where photographer Shelley Franklin would photograph 50 women over the age of fifty before she herself turned fifty. She spent the year before her 50th birthday photographing 51 amazing women (50 plus her own mom!), hearing their stories, and celebrating their life's accomplishments. These photoshoots celebrate who women are TODAY and show the world (including the women being photographed) just how beautiful they truly are and prove beauty doesn't have an expiration date.
Shelley realized doing this project that photoshoots specifically for women over 50 years of age are the most meaningful to HER, and she feels these photo shoots are where she can make the biggest difference in women's lives. Now she specializes in photography for women over the age of 50, and the people and animals they love the most!
There is a huge need for women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond to be photographed... for SO many reasons! Shelley found her passion in connecting with and coaching them through the process of preparing for their photoshoot and loves being their biggest cheerleader along the way. Shel helps them through the process by leading their posing from head to toe and making sure they feel as comfortable as possible, and of course, have fun!
Shelley is a multi-award-winning, published photographer who has studied lighting and posing techniques for a decade. She has personally photographed hundreds of women over the age of fifty. This gives her the ability to create GORGEOUS images and artwork for her clients that they truly will cherish for a lifetime.

"It's amazing the things I learned from these photo shoots. The messages I receive from so many women even weeks, months, and years after their photoshoot are unbelievable. Not only do so many think their photoshoot was a powerful experience, but even refer to it as life-changing. If I can have this big of an impact and provide this experience for more women, I absolutely would love to."
