The Fifty Over 50 Project at Franklin Photography Studios originated in November of 2019. It was intended to be a one time project for photographer Shelley Franklin. She wanted to photograph 50 women over the age of fifty the year before she herself turned fifty. She spent the year before her 50th birthday photographing 51 amazing women (50 + her own mother.) Hearing their stories and celebrating life's accomplishments with them turned out to be an incredibly meaningful experience. Photoshoots for women over fifty became Shelley's absolute favorite genre of photography. Not only do they celebrate who women are TODAY and show not only the subjects, but often the world just how beautiful these women are and prove beauty doesn't have an expiration date!
There is a huge need for women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond to be photographed... for SO many reasons! Shelley found her passion in connecting with and coaching these special clients through the process. Helping preparing for their photoshoot by including professional hair and makeup, a styling consultation and head to toe posing of them during their photoshoot, she loves being their biggest cheerleader along the way.
Shelley is a multi-award-winning, published photographer and Fellow photographer with The Portrait Masters since 2020. She has studied lighting and posing techniques for over a decade and has personally photographed hundreds of women over the age of fifty. This gives her the ability to create not only GORGEOUS images and artwork, but an experience for her clients that is unmatched.
